I cannot figure this out for the life of me! I try using examples but they just confuse me more. I need to solve by factoring. When I try, it's not right.

x^2 + 7x + 10 = 0

I'm lost! Please help!!!!

Please show us what you have tried.

That will help us to know "where to begin".

In the meantime, go to:

for a quick review of techniques.

That site helped alot, thank you. I kinda understand better now lol. But what if there is not a "c" variable? Such as 3x^2-6x=0?

That should be easy - then c = 0

By observation - you can factor out 'x' and '3' from both the terms

3x^2 - 6x

= 3x * x - 3x * 2

= 3x(x - 2).................done

3x^2-6x=0?

3x(x - 2) = 0 : as S K told you

So that simply means x = 0 or 2:
3x = 0
x = 0
or
x - 2 = 0
x = 2

Easy, right?
