Which of the lines below is a slant (or oblique) asymptote for the graph of
y = (x2 - x - 1)/(x - 1).


y = x + 1 ???
 
It never is encouraging that you do not share the entire problem statement with us.

It is also not encouraging that you have not shown your work. This makes it very difficult to see where you wandered off.

How is your long division. I'd take Synthetic Division, too. Either of those will help you see it.
