inequalities??

What's the question? Solve for something?

\(\displaystyle \L \;y\,<\,x^2\,-\,4x\,+\,3\)

Do you know that \(\displaystyle \,(x\,-\,3)\;(x\,-\,1)\,\,=\,\,x^2\,-\,4x\,+\,3\) ?
 
The full question like from the book is:
What if an inequality is non-linear? Decide if how to graph the inequality y<x[squared]-4x+3 on graph paper.

So I guess I'm suppose to graph it. But I don't get inequalities at all.

This sounds like a continuation of some other question, and contains at least one typo. If you haven't been given the other question (so you know what "What if?" is supposed to be another case of) and cannot figure out what "if how" is meant to be, then please consult with your instructor for clarification.

By the way, what do you mean when you say that you "don't get inequalities at all"? Do you not know what the symbols mean? Or something else?
