Intermediate Value Theorem: show that the equation x - cosx

Use the IVT to show that the equation x - cosx = 0 has a solution between x = 0 and
x = pi/2.

I really do not understand this theorem please some explain this to me.
 
Hint: What does the Intermediate Value Theorem say?
