Hint #1
Since p represents the number of pedestrians, we need to substitute 160 for p and evaluate the expression.
Hint #2
For p=160p=160p, equals, 160:
\begin{aligned} 300 - 1.5*p = 300-1.5(160) \\\\ = 300 - 240 \\\\ = 60 \end{aligned}300−1.5p=300−1.5(160)=300−240=60
Hint #3
60 tamales would remain

Hi and excuse my problem repetition of numbers and disorder. See all I wanted to show you guys the problem in hint #2 which says that 160 * 1.5 is the same as 240 which I think its false because in my eye it was 24. Could anyone tell me where I went wrong?

Here are a few reasons.

160*1 = 160, so 160*1.5 is more than 160.

Imagine you and I go to the bank each day for the next 160 days where I always deposit $1 per day into my account and you deposit $1.50 each day into your account. Since you deposit more than me each day then clearly at the end of 160 days your deposits will be greater than mine. That is 160*1.5 is greater than 160*1 which is 160.

1.5 = 1 + .5
So 160*1.5 = 160*(1 + .5) = 160 + 80 (from distributing the 160) = 240

100%=1 and 150% = 1.5
Now 150% is more than 100%
160*1.5 = 160*150% > 160*100% = 160*1 = 160

yeah of course [MATH]16[/MATH] x [MATH]1.5 = 24[/MATH]
in my eyes too
