The base of an isosceles triange is 70 centimeters long. The altitude to the base is 75 centimeters long. Find the measure of a base angle to the nearest degree.

Welcome xalyssaniiicole : :

You know all the properties of an isosceles triangle,right !

An altitude drawn to the base of an isosceles triangle perp. bisects the base,correct !

So you'll get two perpendicular triangles . . .

tanA=opp/adj

tanA=(altitude)/(base/2)

On calculator : Shift tangent : You'll get the answer . . .

By the way, the two base angles are equal --> You can deduce the value of the third vertix.
