Hello, I've been very sick this week and my prof has not returned my emails regarding missed notes. Please help me with this problem on expected value in joint probability distribution.

x=4x=10
y=10.30.2
y=20.10.4
What is E(X|y=2)?

I've tried to solve it as: E(X|y=2) = 4(0.1)+10(0.4) = 4.4
but I don't think this is correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

E(X|y=2) = 4P(X=4|y=2) + 10P(X=10|y=2).
Using this formula you get the results you got. Good job.
