What is the purpose of finding the lowest common multiple of denominators? It is to make the denominators equal so the fractions can be added or subtracted, right?
Can you directly add
[MATH]\dfrac{3x}{(2x - 5)(x + 2)} + \dfrac{2x}{(x - 5)(2x - 5)}[/MATH]?
No because the denominators are not equal. You have not yet found a common multiple, let alone the least common multiple.
