Ok so I saw the answer to the question already on this site but I am still not sure how to do it. We did not learn the L'hospital's rule so I can't use it to solve the question. The question asks to find the Limit sinx/(x+tanx) as x goes to 0? Thanks in advance.

{x + tan(x)}/sin(x) = x/sin(x) + sec(x)

What is the limit of [x/sin(x) + sec(x)] as x → 0?

What is the limit of 1/[x/sin(x) + sec(x)] as x → 0?

The answer to the first limit is 2 and the second equates to 1/2. But how did you get there? Sorry, I am in calculus I and still need step by step solutions. Did you just divide the numerator and the denominator by sin(x)?
