A greeting card manufacturer has 370 boxes of a type of card in warehouse 1 and 290 of the same type of card in warehouse 2. A shop in SanJose orders 350 boxes of the card, and another shop in Memphis orders 300 boxes. The shipping costs per box to these shops from the two warehouses are:
warehouse 1: $ .25 To SanJose/ $ .22 To Memphis
warehouse 2: $ .23 To SanJose / $ .21 To Memphis
How many boxes should be shipped to each city from each warehouse to minimize shipping costs? What is the minimum cost?
I don't know how to begin this problem, I'm having trouble figuring out what the constraints would be and the objective function. Any help is appreciated.
