Log diff

y = [ 4(x+1)^10 ][sroot(2x-1)] / [x(x+3)^5 ]
Find y'(1).

Can someone verify if I did this right?

I got ln y = (40/x+1) + (1/2x-1)
---------------------
(ln x) + (5/x+3)

If I know that part is right, I think I just have to plug one in, but then I'm kinda stuck on the left side, as in what to do with 'ln y'.

I think that you are in too big of a hurry!
Take note.
If \(\displaystyle y{\text{ }} = {\text{ }}[4(x + 1)^{10} ][\sqrt {2x - 1} )]/[x(x + 3)^5 ]{\text{ }}\) then the log is

\(\displaystyle \ln (y) = 10\ln [4(x + 1)] + (1/2)\ln (2x - 1) - \ln (x) - 5\ln (x + 3)\).
