I have been really struggling with this problem given to me, beginning to think it may not even be possible to solve, anyway here it is:

x^(1/(1+w)) + y^(w/(1+w)) = z

Make w the subject.

The difficulty is the \(\displaystyle +\). Logs will not help there.

Yes that's do-able, I got (a+d)/(d-b) = w, just working through it quickly (may have made a mistake)
