k im 17 yrs old and im trying to start mi correspondence grade 10 math and im stuck on converting percents into decimals then converting decimals into fractions...can u help me plz??? :twisted: :? :(

To convert a decimal into a percent, move the decimal point two places to the right. For instance:

. . . . .0.5 = 50%
. . . . .0.05 = 5%
. . . . .0.005 = 0.5%
. . . . .5 = 500%

To convert a percentage into a decimal, move the decimal point two places to the left. For instance:

. . . . .20% = 0.2
. . . . .2% = 0.02
. . . . .0.2% = 0.002
. . . . .200% = 2

We are better off with a problem you are stuck on and seeing what you have tried. In general
% to decimal: divide by 100
decimal to fraction: Make the numerator (the top) into an intiger by multiplying by tens then put it over 1 followed by that number of zeros.
Problem = 12.5%
decimal = .125
fraction = 125/1000 (three tens)
Then reduce the fraction.
125/1000 = 125/(125*8) = 1/8

BTW. We prefer English to chat-speak. u = you, im=I'm, mi=my etc. Its good peactice for school too.
