how many pounds of walnuts that cost $6.50 per pound must be mixed with 7 pounds of cashews that cost 11$ per pound to make a mixture of nuts that costs $8.60 per pound? What is the solution

Start with defining unknowns:

Amount of walnut needed = W pounds

Amount of cashews needed = 7 pounds

Equation: 6.5 * W + 7 * 11 = (W + 7) * 8.6
