Well, I'll take a shot at it! If x= 1, all of x- 1, x- 2, x- 3, x- 4, and x- 5 are non-positive so g(1)= a0f(1)= a0= 1. Then if x= 2, all of x- 2, x- 3, x- 4, and x- 5 are non-negative so g(2)= a0f(2)+ a1f(1)= 1(2)+ a1(1)= a1+ 2= 0 so a1= -2. If x= 3, all of x- 3, x- 4, and x- 5 are non-positive so g(3)= a0f(3)+ a1f(2)+ a3f(1)= 1(3) - 2(2)+ a3(1)= 0. a3= 2- 1= 1.
