34. The Williams family went on vacation at a cabin on the seashore. They drove 420 miles to get to the cabin and the same distance to travel back home.

-It took them 7.4 hours to drive to the cabin. What was their average speed to the nearest mile per hour.

-On the way home they traveled at an average rate of 60 miles per hour. How many hours did it take them to get home.

-They stopped after driving 3/5 of the way home to get gas. How many more miles did they have to travel to get home.

average speed = distance/time

-On the way home they traveled at an average rate of 60 miles per hour. How many hours did it take them to get home.

use the equation provided above to find the time.

-They stopped after driving 3/5 of the way home to get gas. How many more miles did they have to travel to get home.

if they traveled 3/5 of the distance home, that means they have 2/5 of the distance left to go.

Note: Exercise appears to have been answered a couple weeks ago here.
