Belinda created a coffee blend for her restaurant by mixing Kenya and French roast coffee beans. The Kenya beans cost $8 per pound and the French roast cost $6 per pound. She bought a total of 8 pounds of coffee for a total of $51. How much of each type of bean did she buy? If necessary express quantities in decimal (not fraction) form.

Start with defining unknowns:

Amount of Kenya beans needed = K pounds

Amount of French beans needed = F pounds

First equation: \(\displaystyle \ \to \ \ \) She bought a total of 8 pounds of coffee \(\displaystyle \ \to \ \ \) K + F = 8

Second equation: \(\displaystyle \ \to \ \ \) She bought for a total of $ 51 \(\displaystyle \ \to \ \ \) ?
