2 tons = 4,000 lbs

The store pays $4,000 originally for the fruit then sells all of it for$2 a pound making $8,000 gross leaving them with a$4,000 profit.

4,000 x $1 =$4,000
4,000 x $2 =$8,000
$8,000 -$4,000 = $4,000
