my Q is there are 1300 puples at grange hall school and 92% of them where preasent yeserday. How many puples were absent yesterday? show how to work this out.
 
Do you perhaps mean that 92% of the 1300 "pupils" were "present" "yesterday"? If so, pick a variable to stand for "the number present yesterday". Then take the given relationship:

. . . . .(number present) was (92%) of (1300)

...recall that "was" (or "is", "are", etc) means "equals", and "of" in this context means "times". Translate the relationship into an equation, and solve.
