What does 3.2 million stand for?
Is it 3,200,000 or 32,000,000. I believe that it is the first choice. Why would I write it as the second choice.
The US population was approximately 249 million in 1990 and 281 million in 2000.
Determine the slope of this line
281 – 249 32
------------- = ----- = 3.2 million per year
10 – 0 10
In this case it would have to be the second choice above. Can I solve the problem like this and say the slope is 3.2 where it stands for 32 million and how would I determine this?
