The supplement of an angle is 9 times greater then the measure of the complement of the angle. Find the measure of the angle.

Solve for x: \(\displaystyle \pi - x = 9\left( {\frac{\pi }{2} - x} \right)\)

let a = the angle
180 - a = supplement of the angle
90 - a = complement of the angle

now, translate the sentence into an equation ...

The supplement of an angle is 9 times greater then the measure of the complement of the angle.

180 - a = 9(90 - a)

solve for "a" ... :D
