I need to math - pre-algebra up through - ?????

I've been searching for cd-roms/books/etc. - but there seem to be so many out there. Does anyone have any recommendations for good programs?

Thanks!

Are you studying (learning the material for the first time) or reviewing? (Or are we discussing the needs of your child?)

Do you need to start down in elementary-school topics, like primes, factoring, and fractions? Are you up into middle-school topics, like percents and pre-algebra? Do you need geometry at all?

What level of school are you in now? Or are you out, and are going back? (That is, are you looking for kiddie stuff, with cartoons and games and such, or grown-up stuff for somebody who can self-motivate and get done quicker?)

How many months/years are you planning on devoting to this study of "math from before algebra up through ???"? Will you be self-studying, or working face to face with a tutor?

Also, please note that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of math books and programs currently and recently in print/production. There is no way the volunteers could be familiar with more than a small fraction of these, and there is very likely no one "best" package for all. The only one who can say what is best for you -- is you!

Thank you! :D

Eliz.
