Hi guys, I'm just wondering about something which really I'm struggling with!
lets assume that mole=6.2*10^23 atoms, then why if I say 5.5moles, and I need to convert them to atoms, then we simply multiply 5.5 by 6.2*10^23atoms? in other words we just exchange the label "moles" of 5.5 to a multiplication of 6.2*10^23 ?
I'm not asking why mole=6.2*10^23 .. I'm asking why we need to multiply when we exchange the label "mole" by label of "atoms" ? who said that we are multiplying when we convert 5.5moles to atoms?! Yeah mole =6.2*10^23atoms, but who said that when I want to exchange the labels of "mole" by "atoms" we multiply!! i.e: we do 5.5 * (6.2*10^23atoms) why we multiply?! we just have this statement 5.5moles, none say that 5.5*moles=5.5moles!!! any help guys?

If you have a box of apples labeled "5.5 dozen", then why do you multiply 5.5 times 12, to calculate the number of apples in the box?

?
