Hello. Have you learned about solving systems of equations? The exercise describes four unknown numbers, but it gives additional information that allows us to express Brie's coin counts in terms of Tania's. In other words, we need only two variables for finding the four numbers.

Let x = number of Tania's 0.50 coins
Let y = number of Tania's 0.20 coins

To begin, can you use symbol x to write an expression that represents number of Brie's 0.50 coins?

Can you use symbols x and y to write an equation that shows Tania's coins total 3.40 value?
