Do you understand the difference between:

\(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to 3^{-}}\)............................ and ........................\(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to 3^{+}}\)

Please show us what you have tried and exactly where you are stuck.

You really are in serious trouble if you do not even know where to start with these problems.

For 11a, what is the approximate y-value when x is near -2 but x is NOT -2. Look a little to the left of -2 and a little to the right of -2 and determine what the y-value is approaching. If you get the same answer then the answer to 11a is that common answer otherwise the limit does not exist.

Reply part with your answer to 11a.
