Need help with a word problem!!!

I dont even know where to start. I dont really want the answer, I just want a better understanding of the problem and a place to start

Did you ever learn the multiplication table or longhand division of Whole numbers by Whole numbers ?

That makes it fairly easy to find the two requested numbers. (It can be done mentally.)

I mean, I'm thinking that you should know how to list the Integer factors of 48 by now.

(1)(48)

(2)(24)

(3)(16)

(4)(12)

(6)(8)

Since the product of the two numbers is -48, one of the factors in each pair above must be negative, yes ?

Which such pair of numbers add up to 2 ?
