need help with formulas really bad

For example here is one of the problems :

5x-x+2x

or

4(n+2) /5 = -n

4(n+2) /5 = -n
if your aim is to find "n" then

4(n+2) = (-n) 5

4n + 8 = -5n

8 = -5n - 4n

8 = -9n

(-8/9) = n

For example here is one of the problems :
5x - x + 2x

That's as simple as: 5 apples less 1 apple plus 2 apples;
how many apples is that?
Don't let the variable letter confuse you;
5apples - 1apple + 2apples : same thing.

WHY are you having problems with that one?
