need help with methods for solving absolute-value equations

if the question is solve the equation but includes absolute value do i need to juss get all the x's and number on seperate sides and solve it like normal?

no ... there is a bit more to solving absolute value equations than just doing it the "normal" way.

post a specific problem, por favor.

say its like 3-7h ( that part in absoulute value) +4 = 30

|3 - 7h| + 4 = 30

|3 - 7h| = 26

there are two possibilities for the value of (3 - 7h) ... it could be equal to +26 or -26, because |26| = 26 and |-26| = 26.

so, you have two equations to solve ...

3 - 7h = 26 3 - 7h = -26

you will get two solutions for h ... check them both in the original equation.
