New Zealand Lotto Strike probability question
There are 40 balls numbered 1-40. 4 balls will be drawn. The drawn balls must match the exact order ( position).
For Example:
The Winning Numbers drawn in the Lotto Draw, in order of drawing, are:
6, 12, 5, 15, 20
Numbers selected by a player, in order of selection, are:
5, 12, 10, 15, 20
The Winning Numbers are:
12, 15, 20
The probability of Strike 4 should be 1/40 x 1/39 x 1/38 x 1/37 . The chance per line = 1/ (1/40 x 1/39 x 1/38 x 1/37)
Can anyone teach me how to calculate the chance per line for Strike 1 to 3?
