If you meant to say "I got y = -1" - then your answer is incorrect. Please show us how you arrived at that answer.

There is a difference between saying you are "not so good at math" and not being able to do second grade integer arithmetic! If y= -1 then 3y+ 8= 3(-1)+ 8= 5 while 2y- 9= 2(-1)- 9= -11. No, those are NOT the same! Though, having been so harsh, I have to say that you probably just dropped a sign in your solution- do it more slowly!
