In a two digit number, the units digit is 5 more than the tens digit. The number is 6 less than 4 times the sum of the digits. Find the number.

I need an equation to solve the problem...i guessed the number to be 38..but i dont know how to write the equation for it.

Let t = tens digit
Let u = units digit

We know that the units digit is 5 more than the 10's digit. So,
u = t + 5

The value of the number with tens digit t and units digit u is 10t + u. We know that the number (10t + u) is 6 less than 4 times the sum of the digits. So,
10t + u = 4(t + u) - 6

Ok...you've got two equations:
u = t + 5
10t + u = 4(t + u) - 6

Can you take it from here?
