That means 3/5 of 35 have pets; or 3/5 times 35.
Has your teacher not shown you how to do this?

Hi Jennifer:

The phrase "those with pets" refers to a number.

This number is specifically 3/5 * 35, just like Denis wrote.

So, there's two steps.

1) Calculate three-fifths of 35

2) Calculate one-seventh of the result from step 1
