I have a test tomorrow and here's the prob I need to figure out:

Graph y= -1/2 x

and

What is the domain of g(x) = 5/x+4

!!! Can anyone help me???

Your formatting is ambiguous, so I can't tell if you mean "y = -1/(2x)" or "y = -(1/2)x", but the technique for graphing is the same in either case:

1) Pick x-values.
2) Plug them into the equation.
3) Simplify to find the corresponding y-values.
4) Draw the (x, y) points.
5) Connect the dots.

Where are you stuck?

Your formatting is ambiguous, so I can't tell if you mean "y = (5/x) + 4" or "y = 5/(x + 4", but the technique for finding the domain of a rational function is the same in either case:

1) Set the denominator equal to zero.
2) Solve.
3) The domain is everything else.

Where are you stuck?

Please reply with specifics. Thank you.

What I mean was ONE HALF and that's hugging the x, which I think means to multiply. Specifics as to where I'm stuck....well, in short, I have no clue as to where I should even start. I'm sooo bad at math

AND

How do I "pick X values"??? That's the problem, I don't know what they are or how to do it.

If you don't know what variables are, then I'm not sure how to help you, since you would need a few weeks (months?) of background material first.

Sorry.
