I understand that when multiplying or dividing by a negative number you switch the inequality symbol around.

Here are some questions i just made up, what i want to know is when multiplying the negatives, does the symbol switch every time, or if you multiply once it will change, or when your expanding brackets on both sides of the inequality sign will it change, and what if the question is reversed and your multiplying a negative after you pass the inequality sign.

What is the process of the inequality turning around here? I am simply confused because no-one on youtube has a minus in the freaking brackets when expanding; nor being expanded by a negative.

So please guys and girls i really need you to help me with this =\

Thanks <#

What? Very odd-looking.

Ask yourself WHY does the inequality reverse?

If -x > 3, then multiply be -1 and we get x < -3.

Compare that to this.

-x > 3

Add x

0 > 3 + x

Subtract 3

-3 > x

Is that the same solution?
Did I multiply by anything?
Did the symbol do any "switching"?
