Its been ahile sinceI took a math class and my son has a math problems dealing with patterns, that has me stuck.

It involves a table that shows bowling scores for james as below:
game score
1 250
2 240
3 240
4 270

The problem says that given the bowling scores for the first four games of the tournament....predict the score for the fifth game of the tournament.

What is the steps that he would use to solve this problem?

I'm thinking that the only prediction that we can make is the average of all of James' games thus far.
