Hi. I thought I understood this exercise. But when I tried to enter my answer for the total of votes, it isn't allowing me, it displays a message saying I should reconsider my answer, meaning its wrong. But I can't find my error.

For part d, it says that 560 upper class voted for Blue, and the table says that's 0.16 of the total upper class.

So I calculated 16 % x = 560, to get the total of the upper class.

16 % x =560
0.16 x = 560
x = 560/0.16
x= 3500

Then,

I calculated the total of votes, knowing the total votes of the upper class represents 25% of the total votes.

25 % x= 3500, and I got my total votes, a five-digit number, but it doesn't allow me to enter it. (maximun allow 4 digit number)

25 % x= 3500
0.25 x= 3500
x= 3500/0.25
x= 14000

Where is my mistake? Thank you.

So I calculated 16 % x = 560, to get the total of the upper class.
I calculated the total of votes, knowing the total votes of the upper class represents 25% of the total votes.

But 16% is the percentage of all votes that were upper class voting for blue, not the percentage of upper class voters. None of the numbers in the table are conditional.

For the upper class I have,

560 votes for blue, so the total of the upper class is 25% of the votes.

16% x= 560
x= 3500

x= total of votes

25% of 3500= 875 total upper
21% of 3500= 735 total middle
54% of 3500= 1890 total lower

c) middle class voted for orange

14% 3500 = 490

d) There are 3500 voters

thanks ?
