Hi I was wondering if someone could check a few questions for me

1. If the coordinates of P are(-2,7), what are the coordinates of (D2 o ry=x)(P)
(14,-4)

2. What is the image of P(-4,6) under the composite rx=2 o ry=x?
(0,6)

3. sorry i don't know how else to write this:
simplify:
n^2-4 x n^2+2n
______ _______
n^2+4n+4 n^2 n-2
_____
n
4. Combine and simplify:

3 + 2
_____ ____
x^2-9 x-3

I'm not sure

thank you!

Please define what "(D2 o ry = y)(P)" means. Thank you.

Please define what "rx = 2 o ry = x" means. Thank you.

To learn how to format, please follow the instructions in the bottom four links of the "Forum Help" pull-down menu, at the very top of the page. The "Karl's Notes" link is probably the quickest from which to learn.

______ _______
n^2+4n+4 n^2
Do you mean the following?

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \large{\left(\frac{n^2\,-\,4x}{n^2\,+\,4n\,+\,4}\right)\, \left(\frac{n^2\,+\,2n}{n^2}\right)}\)

Or should the "4x" in the first numerator by a "4n"? Thank you.

4. Combine and simplify:
3 + 2
_____ ____
x^2-9 x-3
Do you mean the following?

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \large{\frac{3}{x^2\,-\,9}\;+\;\frac{2}{x\,-\,3}}\)

If so, factor the first denominator, find the common denominator, convert the second fraction to this common denominator, and then add. Always remember to leave the denominator factored, and factor the numerator when you're done, to see if anything might happen to cancel off.

Code:
    n^2-4 x n^2+2n
   ______ _______
  n^2+4n+4 n^2 n-2
                                _____
                                  n
Correct!

It's not dissimilar from the previous question: write as

\(\displaystyle \mbox{ \frac{3}{(x + 3)(x - 3)} + \frac{2}{x - 3}}\)

and you can find the lowest common denominator from there and add.
