I do not understand how to do this problem. I tried it and I solved for TAN <C but I don't know if that is right nor what to do next.

What is the measure of the larger acute angle of a right triangle that has legs that measure 8 and 14? Round to the nearest tenth.

TAN<C = AB/AC = 14/8=7/4= 1.75

What do I do next to solve this problem?

What is the measure of the larger acute angle of a right triangle that has legs that measure 5 and 14? Round to the nearest tenth.

TAN<C = AB/AC = 14/8=7/4= 1.75

Assuming triangle ABC with C being the right angle. A being the larger internal angle and C being the smallest internal angle.

If the two "legs are 5 and 14, the larger acute angle is at the intersection of the side measuing 5 and the hypotenuse, or point A. The tangent of this angle is tan/_A =14/5 = 2.8.
