Hey guys, I really need help on this - I have a test tomorrow and this just isn't clicking with me, so if someone could help I'd appreciate it tons!

A=p+prt (solve for p)

^ I don't really understand this at all for some reason, I had my teacher try to help me but he goes so fast and so if you could help and show me step by step how you got that it'd be great...

4|3x+4|=-4x+8

^On this one we're supposed to find both positive and negative solutions, I can find the positive and it plugs in and works, I got x=-2...... the negative is what I'm having trouble doing?

Thanks.

1) Solve A = p + prt for p.

Factor out the p. Divide off the 1 + rt.

2) Solve 4|3x + 4| = -4x + 8

Note that 3x + 4 > 0 for x > -4/3. Then consider the two cases: x < -4/3 and x > -4/3. Solve separately.

On which part of which problem?

(if u havent noticed im horrible at math) sorry!
um.. what do u mean by factor out the p?

Divide it out front. For example:

. . . . .4x + 12 = 4(x + 3)

. . . . .3x2 - 6x = 3x(x - 2)

. . . . .xy - yz = y(x - z)

...and so forth.
