Hey,

I have a 2 algebra sums I can not figure out ...

√2 * b * b = 1256 How can the answer be 105.1

And a other one: l = 1,5 * b | bring the 1.5 to the left gives b = 1 / 1.5 * l , how??
th g

and

How can the answer be b = 105.1?

How can the answer be b = 105.1?

Thank you for your help ...

The answer to the first is not 105.1, as you can see by doing the check (substituting b with 105.1 and evaluating). Why do you think it is? Did you copy the equation exactly as given, or does what you typed look a little (or a lot) different?

In the second, they have multiplied both sides by the reciprocal of 1.5, namely 1/1.5; this is equivalent to dividing by 1.5.

Thanks for your help. You're awesome dude! I wrote the first one wrong, they say that √2 * b * b = 15625 , gives somehow b = 105.1 But how?

What did you get when you divided through by the square root, and then solved the resulting quadratic by taking the square root of either side?

Please show all of your work. Thank you! ;)
