Suppose a system has two modules,
A
and
B
, that function independently. Module
A
fails with probability
0.24
and Module
B
fails with probability
0.38
, when the system is executed. When the system is executed, find the probability that:

(a) only Module
A
fails.

(b) only Module
B
fails.

(c) both modules fail.

(d) neither module fails.

(e) What do the probabilities add up to?

Ive tried doing a) but cant see the logic behind it
