Well wikipedia says it's the summation from n = 0 to infinity of 1/n!

Is that what you mean by definition?

e is defined to be limit as n goes to infinity of [1 + 1/n]^n = lim as n goes to infinity of [1+1/(n/x)]^[(n/x)*x] = lim as n goes to infinity of {[1+ x/n]^(n/x)}^x = e^x since e= lim as x goes to infinity of [1+1/(n/x)]^(n/x)

You really need to know, ALL THE TIME, the definition of e.
