Could some please help me simplify this quadratic formula:

-(b)± {(b)^2-4(a)(c)} / 2(a) {}
-(8)± "{ (8)^2 -4(-33)(33)} / 2(-33) =
8 ± {4420}/-66

The only two numbers I can find that =4420 are 68 and 65 and all that would do it give me two radical numbers.
Sorry I don't know how to write out the radical sign.

Thanks for your help

so youre looking for

\(\displaystyle \L \sqrt{8^2+2^2\cdot 33^2}\)

what can we factor out, at this point?is that not equivalent to

\(\displaystyle \L \sqrt{2^6+2^2\cdot 33^2}\)?

if so... then

\(\displaystyle \L \sqrt{2^2(2^4+33^2)}\)

its not going to come out rational, either way
