Working :
Mugdha and Mayuri working together can complete a job in 18 days
⇒ 1 day = 1/18 of the work
They can do 1/18 of the work in 1 day

Define x:
Let Mayuri take x days to complete the work alone
⇒ 1 day = 1/x of the work
Mayuri can do 1/x of the work in 1 day

Let Mugdha take y days to complete the work alone
⇒ 1 day = 1/y of the work
Mugdha can do 1/y of the work in 1 day

Now how to proceed further?.......

Now how to proceed further?.......
In 1 day (Mugdha+Mayuri) finish [1/x + 1/y = ] (x+y)/(x*y) part of the job.

It takes 18 days for them to work together and finish the job.

18 = (x * y)/(x + y) ..................................................................(1)

Mugdha works alone and completes 2/5 of the job.

Time taken to finish 2/5 of the job (Mugdha alone) = 2/5 * x

So Mayuri works alone and finishes 3/5 of the job in (3/5 * y) days.

39 = 2/5 * x + 3/5 * y ..............................................................(2)

You have two equations (1 & 2) and two unknowns.
