Could someone tell me if this formula is correct? Thanks.

70 = 3.5x
-3.5x = -70
x = 70/3.5

3.5x = 7(10)
3.5x = 70

x = (70/3.5)
x = 20

7/(20) = 3.5/10
7/20 = 7/20

You don't need to switch them around to make negative......just divide both sides. Either way....you arrived at the correct answer.
