Ok, I read what you typed. Is there a question that goes with this? If yes, can you please post the question along with your attempt to do the problem? Showing us your work enables us to know where you need help

OOOH WIERD IT CUT OFF HALF MY POST. So that is the question
Company A and B invest 24million into Failing company. The Ratio of Losses are 2/5:3/10 respectively.
How much did Company A loose and How much did company B loose. ??
is that the same as 24million*2/5 for company a and 24million*3/10 for B

Did they lose all their money? 24million*2/5 + 24million*3/10 = 24million(2/5+3/10). Is 2/5+3/10 =1?

Two companies A and B injected 24 million in a failed enterprise. If the companies' losses were in the ratio 2/5:3/10 RESPECTIVELY.
how much did company b loose. that is the exact question

Thank you but wondering if its 24million x by each ratio to determine the loss of each investor? is that the correct way to approach the question.

Assuming that "failed" means that all the money invested was lost then the 24 million needs to be divided up in the ratio 4:3.

Splitting something in the ratio 4:3 means that if there are 7 things, the first person gets 4 and the second person gets 3.

In other words, the first person gets 4/7 of the total and the second person gets 3/7 of the total.
