.) If one-half of one interger is subtracted from three-fifths of the next consecutive integer, the difference is 3. What are the 2 intergers?

48.) x/x-2-x+1/x=8/x^2-2x

24.) x/6-x/8=1

24(x/6)-24(x-8)=1(24)
4x-3=24
4x=27
x=6.75

Ok I know that x is supposed to be 24 but I can't get that answer.

\(\displaystyle \L \frac{3(x+1)}{5} - \frac{x}{2} = 3\)
multiply by 10
6(x+1) - 5x = 30
6x+6-5x = 30
x = 24

Keep it simple

\(\displaystyle \L \frac{8x\,-\,6x}{48}\,=\,1\)

\(\displaystyle \L \frac{2x}{48}\,=\, 1\)

\(\displaystyle \L 2x = 48\)

\(\displaystyle \L x = 24\)

BAM! :D

are you sure? I tried checking it and I am not getting it.
I could always be doing it wrong (probably) but just wanted
to be sure.

i dont know how you can ask if we are SURE? because we showed you the math to get there, possibly do you think you could be misinterpreting "subtracted from"?

24(x/6)-24(x-8)=1(24)<------here's your mistake. It is 24(x / 8), NOT 24(x - 8)......

4x-3=24.....this should be 4x - 3x = 24. That should "fix it"
4x=27
x=6.75

Ok I know that x is supposed to be 24 but I can't get that answer.
