In rectangle ABCD,point E is the midpoint of BC

-If the area of the quadrilateral ABED is 2/3, what is the area of rectangle ABCD?

i drew a picture... it didnt help me much. my guess was that the area was one but it wasnt. the area is 8/9 but i dont know how that happened.

DO NOT guess when doing maths :shock:

Hint: 2/3 is the area of 3/4 of the rectangle
(you should have seen that if you drew a diagram!)
