so i got to 55.2 x 10^6 and i know that i have to make it 5.52 so it will be in scientific notation form and the answer is supposed to be 5.52 x 10^7 but shouldnt it be 10^5 if the decimal is being moved back? please help...

when you moved the decimal point to the left one place, you divided 55.2 by 10.

So, in order to keep the value of the expression the same, you must multiply

\(\displaystyle 10^6 \ \) by 10. Then you will get the answer in choice (2).
