So as PR || CD Triangle QCD is similar to Triangle QPR. According to Basic Proportionality Theorem m=14. On the same lines because PR || AB Triangle SAB is similar to Triangle SPR. Also AB || CD. In the question it is given that Triangle SAB is similar to Triangle QCD.

I am not able to relate these results and find the value of AS.
 
I think you're right; the problem is defective.

You can easily find PS; but then you can imagine freely sliding A along that segment without violating anything you are told, so AS could have any value less than PS.

Maybe they meant to say "congruent".
